Our Secret Garden

Our Secret Garden.
We have had this dead space next to our driveway, which is where we spend hours a day playing.
It was just an empty spot where water and toys would gather.
It was ugly.
Its the first thing you see when you step out of our back door and everyday it would erk me.
Urk? Erk?…you know what I mean.
So…
I took things in to my own hands the other day while the kids were
entertaining themselves for once!
Our own Secret Garden.
I pulled this out of my magic hat and only used things I had around the house.
Now,
every time I walk out our back door,
or look out the window,
or play in the driveway…
this is what I see.
and it makes me really
really
happy.
This old bench I found in a field on my husband’s grandparent’s farm.
Just sitting there.
Ready to be thrown out.
I die.
The brick we had laying around along with a stepping stone that I had made for Logan on his first Father’s Day.
It’s Taegans feet at 4 months old.
My favorite part has to be the frames with the sand dollar and starfish.
I don’t know what made me do this… but i’m sooo glad I did!
I had taken these frames apart to spray their ugly gold finish white and they had been sitting on my side porch for weeks waiting for me to put the pictures back in them.
I did this instead.
A bird house, humming bird feeder, sheep statue, and some dollar store pinwheels finished up the job. Also check my friend’s reviews on best outdoor cat house & shelter for placing in small garden.
