Shutter Picture Display & Pictures...just for fun.

This might be one of my MOST FAVORITE ideas I've had so far...

I bought these old shutters, 4 for 6 bucks, with a completely different vision.
Think...
shelves.
While waiting on my husband (story of my life) to get the right hanging materials I came up with something else...

A new way to display my THOUSANDS of pictures that I take and print of and have no place to put them.
Now...
I do.

And I love it.

I love it so much I think I'm going to do another set on the opposite wall.
Goes perfectly with my new white sofa slipcovers.
(the wrinkles are now gone...couldn't wait to put them on and see how they looked)

My den redo is finally starting to resemble my vision.

And these are just for fun...
Every time I take a picture of her and see these big beautiful eyes I can't help but hear the voice of the NICU nurses when she was only 4lbs and in the hospital...
"She is going to break some hearts with those eyes"
they would say.

They were right.

My heart.

She was using those big blue eyes to watch our little Family Frontyard Football Game.
Taegan and Daddy went with Grandpa to Notre Dame.
And brought back all kinds of Irish goodies.

And here is a little snap shot of how mornings go in my house.
Me...trying to get 3 kids fed, changed, packed, loaded, and out the door for school.
LG is ready!

Taegan: not so much.

Tried some new hats out for my shoppe Lillie Bee, so I had to get a few shots of our model
well
modeling them.

And last
but certainly not least
Baby Macky
taking
BABY STEPS!
Well, one baby step to be exact!
She'll be 10mo. old tomorrow.
Crazy.
We are now taking bets on how long until she's running.
I'm going with two and a half weeks...

What's your guess?

That's asuch a clever idea with the shutters. I bet that would work for displaying Christmas cards, too.

Love the idea. Thank you so much. I'm thrilled because I have some big, long shutters sitting in my garage. I was going to paint them red and use them at Christmas time to put all the Christmas cards we receive posted on them. Now I can use them year-round. Awesome. Did you paint them like that or did they come like that? If you did paint them, will you tell me how? alysawhitlock@yahoo.com. Thanks for the post. I came via linky parties.

love your shutters. I just had to say that my little brother's nickname is Macky. He's now 22 and everyone in the world calls him Macky and not my his real name (Emmanuel)

This display is beautiful! And I literally have a PILE of shutters in my shed that came off every window in my house (the former owner used them instead of drapes). I am soooo gonna borrow this idea from you. I take thousands of photos too.

And OH, those eyes and that face....that photo is stunning!

omg, i totally found some old shutters in my garage, and i knew just what to do with them! So hopefully they turn out this cute-- i will keep you posted!

For smaller shutters you can turn them upside down and the pictures will free stand. Unfortunately a cat broke mine so I replaced them with larger ones (more room for more pics) so I stopped by to see how you had them hung. Love the clothespins!!! I also have an antique door leaning behind the shutters where I hang pics on the inside of the glass. (Stole that one from an antiques dealer friend!)

I just found some beat up shutters and didn't know what I was going to do with them till I stumbled across your blog. Thanks for the inspiration. I featured this project in my blog (http://junk-n-my-trunk.blogspot.com/2011/08/300-shutters-transformed-into-photo.html) for credit. :) Just wonderful!
