Sweet Ideas

Often the difference between a successful person and a failure is not that one has better abilities or ideas, but the courage that one has to bet on one's ideas, to take a calculated risk- and to act"

Dining Room Redo!

While we were out of town the week of Memorial Day we had the "guys" hard at work at the home front! We painted our dining room, front room (my soon to be craft room...EeeEEee!), our stairwell, upstairs hall and finally the master bathroom.
We The "Guys" went from yellow to turquoise (which is EVERYwhere this year) and I am in LOVE with how it turned out. In a few weeks we are painting our den and kitchen and until that is done I really don't want to go hanging things on the walls only to have to move them. SO I set this stuff on our new (well not NEW it is in fact over 100 years old and belonged to my Aunt Eleanor. My dad's been trying to get me to take it for years and I am oh so glad I did!) buffet. It was kind of a fluke but I'm diggin how it turned out!

This room doesn't get much natural light and its hard to capture the true color of the walls on the camera. This is not, in fact, what it looks like. We used  South Pacific by Olympic found at Lowe's.

I kept trying to get a shot of the chandelier that I redid and kept running into the same lighting problem. This was the best I could do for now. We had the most terrible, horrible, no good, very bad chandelier that was here when we moved in.  I walked past it EVERday and everyday my hatred for it grew more and more. So for a quick fix we took it down and I sprayed away the U.G.L.Y. with some ivory spray paint and TA-DA!
Again...loooove how it turned out! Such a BIG difference for hardly any dollas$$$
